IN THE CHILL of a dewy September morning, a green darner rests on a stem of grass, waiting for the sun to dry its wings. An “early riser,” Lori Franzen loves to walk the fields near her home in Ann Arbor, Michigan, using a macro lens to capture nature’s tiny gems. She says this “peaceful image” provides a “quiet connection to nature.”
