Bumblebee: Josh Mayes

Since 1973, the National Wildlife Federation’s Garden for Wildlife® program has been educating and empowering people to turn their own small piece of the Earth—their yards and gardens—into thriving habitats for birds, butterflies, and other wildlife. Likewise, about one half of the National Wildlife Federation’s 52 state and territorial affiliate partners are supporting wildlife habitat garden and restoration programs unique to the flora and fauna native to their state.

Twenty-six state affiliates of the National Wildlife Federation have had a long track record working in their states to increase habitat for backyard wildlife species. In addition, the entire nationwide state and territorial affiliate network adopted a resolution to protect pollinator populations. Check out the link for your state below to learn of state wide and local resources for creating habitat where you live.  Many affiliates offer workshops, native plant sales, and community events that support creating a Certified Wildlife Habitat®, pollinator pathways, monarch gardens and more.

The state affiliates listed below have a formal partnership with the National Wildlife Federation’s Garden for Wildlife® program. Together we recognize the efforts of residents who commit to creating wildlife habitat with a co-certification of Certified Wildlife Habitat® designation at the state and national level. Stay tuned—more state affiliates will soon be joining the partnership!
